The sixth day of ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ถ also known as ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ต๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ, this day is associated with ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ. Born to sage Katyayana, she is an incarnation of Durga. Known as the warrior goddess, she is considered one of the most violent forms of Devi. In this avatar, Katyayani rides a lion and has four hands. She is a form of Parvati, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati.
According to the Vamana Purana, she was created from the combined energies of the gods when their anger at the demon Mahishasura manifested itself in the form of energy rays. The rays crystallized in the hermitage of Kฤtyฤyana Rishi, who gave it proper form therefore she is also called Katyayani or “๐ฟ๐๐ช๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ง ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐”.
