The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) and the Legal Aid Society (LAS) have joined hands in a significant step towards safeguarding the rights of minority communities in Pakistan. A historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed today, solidifying a partnership that aims to provide crucial legal assistance to cases involving the minority population, particularly those within the Hindu community.
The MoU was signed by General Secretary Parshotam Ramani and Chief Executive Officer LAS Barrister Hayya Emaan Zahid in the presence of Chairman PM’s Taskforce on Gandhara Tourism and Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Hindu Council Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani and other representatives of both the organisations
The Pakistan Hindu Council, a representative body for the Hindu community in Pakistan, has long been dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of its members. With this partnership, the PHC seeks to enhance its efforts in addressing legal challenges faced by minority individuals and communities, fostering a more just and harmonious society.
The Legal Aid Society, a recognized legal advocacy organization, brings its extensive expertise in providing legal aid to underprivileged and marginalized individuals. By extending their support to the PHC, the LAS reaffirms its commitment to promoting access to justice and upholding the rule of law.
Under the terms of the MOU, the Legal Aid Society will offer comprehensive legal assistance to cases referred by the Pakistan Hindu Council. These cases may encompass a wide range of legal issues affecting the Hindu minority population. Through this MOU we aim to create a more inclusive legal framework that protects the rights of all citizens, regardless of their religious background.
