He said this while visiting the home of Christian rape victim girl named “Sunaina”, who became latest addition in ongoing atrocities towards Minorities. Dr. Ramesh was briefed by her mother, Irshad Bibi that Sunaina was kidnapped on gun point by some “Ansar” from Khyaban e Bokhari, Defence, Karachi last month on October 4 and the FIR was lodged on same day at Mehmoodabad Police Station. “The Police arrested the Kidnapper after one month of struggle but he managed to get himself free the very next day.” She regretted, adding that her daughter managed to escape and reached home on November 20. Prominent minority lawmaker Dr. Ramesh Kumar, while showing solidarity with the victim family, immediately contacted the DIG Police South, Abdul Khaliq Shiekh and demanded strict action against the culprits. He also provided financial assistance for medical and hospital treatment of her. Dr. Ramesh was of view that purpose behind targeting minorities’ girls for rape and forcibly conversions was to harass and create panic among the patriotic minorities. “During the recent meetings with Governor Punjab, Governor Sindh, Jamat e Islami and other delagates, Pakistan Hindu Council has urged to play active role by all sensible peace loving segments of society to adopt solid policy to curb crimes against minorities.” Dr. Ramesh concluded.
